Every book begins with something simmering.

My books have grown from ideas that stayed with me. Sometimes those ideas come through the kitchen and its seasons, messes, delicate things, and processes. Sometimes they come through characters and stories waiting to be told. Some are meant to encourage, some to carry you into another world, and some simply to give you something beautiful to linger over.

Books to Sit With

Thyme & Seasonings

My first book began with a realization: the steps we use in cooking can help us understand the steps we take in life.

Through kitchen analogies, stories, and Scripture, Thyme & Seasonings helps readers recognize the season they’re in and consider the steps that may belong to that part of their journey.

Delicacy Belongs Here

I had always wanted to create an illustrated picture book, and I wanted this one to be something beautiful for the moments when someone doesn’t feel very strong.

Through gentle kitchen imagery and short encouraging phrases, Delicacy Belongs Here offers a reminder that feeling frail or delicate does not mean there is no strength within you. The illustrations are part of that experience—something to linger over while the words offer encouragement.

from mess to …

I wanted to continue creating picture books, this time exploring something I’ve seen in both cooking and life: sometimes the process gets messy before something beautiful takes shape.

Through illustrated kitchen transformations and short reflections, From Mess to… offers encouragement for the ugly, uncomfortable, or unfinished parts of a process. It’s a reminder to keep going—the other side may look very different, and the work along the way can be well worth it.

Where the Work Is…

I wanted to continue the picture-book collection by looking more closely at the individual steps of a process—and the idea that those steps aren’t simply things standing between us and the finish line.

Through kitchen imagery and short reflections, this book explores how timing, pressure, preparation, patience, and other parts of a process can each have a purpose. It offers encouragement to consider the step you’re in right now and recognize that there may be a reason for what this part of the journey requires.
